Honorary Consul: Jonathan T. Tichy

Jonathan was accredited by the State Department as an Honorary Consul to the Czech Republic on March 30, 2009. He is an attorney and shareholder at the Salt Lake City law firm Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler where he serves as the chair of the international and governmental relations practice. He is certified fluent in the Czech and Slovak languages. He spent almost seven years abroad working in significant business, legal and governmental capacities. In the late 1990s he worked for the U.S. Department of State as an international political and economic advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Prague. For his work there, he was awarded the prestigious Meritorious Honor Medal. Mr. Tichy also served as the ranking Staff Aide (chief of staff) to an Assistant Secretary of State and several ambassadors, and was a Fascell Fellow at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs in Washington, D.C. He also served for several years as vice-president of the board of trustees of the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy.
