As Honorary Consul for the Brazilian Community in Utah, we handle
problems and answer questions, which may come from the Brazilian individuals and
families living in the area. Each
year we organize two itinerate consulates where as many 500 or more
Brazilians are invited
to attend to put their papers in order and up to date. This would include
passport renewals,
registering marriages, births, military registration, etc. This saves local
Brazilians from having
to travel to Los Angeles at a lot of expense. We also deal with problems
which may arise because of illegal status, sickness, deaths, etc.
We represent the Brazilian community by attending official local and
state civic affairs, and organizing Brazilian events celebrating special
holidays, seminars and celebrations. We participare in the Utah Brazilian Chamber of
Commer and work to promote business relationships between Brazil and the
State of utah. Our office suplies these services on a strictly honorary and
voluntary basis with no compensation or reimbursement. It is estimated there are
around 8,000-10,000 Brazilians living in and around the State of Utah.
