Honorary Consul: Niels Valentiner

Niels was recognized by the State Department as Honorary Consul to Denmark on April 7, 1993. He is the founder and president of VCBO Architecture, and has guided the firm’s development as one of the major architectural firms in the Western United States over the last 36 years. He has designed projects for Universities, Sports and Arena facilities, Medical Facilities, Corporate Office Complexes, Civic and State Institutional Buildings, and significant religious buildings, both in the United States and abroad in Asia, Central America, and Europe.
Niels civic activities also have included the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Governors and on the Executive Committee, as the Chairman of the Salt Lake Area Small Business Council, and on the Board of Advisors for the University of Utah School of Architecture and Planning. Niels’ humanitarian activities includes his work as a co-founder and Director of the Choice Humanitarian Foundation with village development work in third world countries in South and Central America, Africa, and Asia.
